Laundromat & Coffee House

Imagine being in grade school and waking up knowing that you don’t have any clean clothes to wear to school. Your parents don’t have a washing machine and you have no choice but to wear clothes to school that may have stains or smell bad. This is a scenario that many kids in our community have experienced.

Now imagine that you are a parent and your kids have clothes that are dirty. You have no washing machine and the closest laundromat is more than 20 miles away. If you have time to go to the laundromat, you may not have reliable transportation or the means to pay for the wash cycles. Sometimes you have to choose between gas to get to work or gas to go to the laundromat.

This situation is a problem for many people in the community of Iberia, Missouri. But it is also an opportunity for businesses and people to come together and enhance the quality of life in our small town! Would you consider making a contribution to the long term health and well-being of children and families in Iberia?

This building will also house a coffee shop that will provide positive work experience and leadership skills for teens who don’t have reliable transportation to work after school jobs. The laundromat will have a drop off service where busy people can drop off their own laundry to have it washed and folded for a small charge. The building will also have a space for another business to rent. This will allow for additional revenue to help with overhead costs so that the project is self-sustaining.
